I am trying to figure out who the author is–do you happen to know?

I haven’t read it through, just skimmed it to the end. At first I thought it was one of those Motley Fool marketing pieces but that’s not so. I’ll have to take some time to study his observations–it appears he likes Warren Buffett a lot. Very interesting.

The author is Sanjay Bakshi who is a professor at one of the premier business schools in India and a partner at an India-focused Value Investing firm.

This was a very interesting and informative read. Thank you for sharing.

My two main takeaways were:

  1. Turnarounds rarely turn around into great companies (and investments).
  2. Great companies statistically have the highest % chance of remaining great and thus are valued low today over a long term perspective.
