I spend my coins at local stores that still offer cash discounts. My biggest cash discounts were for cash payments toward our sun room and furnaces down to pizza and local produce which give 3-5% discounts for cash.

How do you know it’s not skimming via the count?
It might simply adjust the counts by some percentage.
In the past I’ve counted out how much change I had when it was a low number and not enough of any to roll. They could’ve changed it since then but credit unions usually are more helpful/friendly than banks at least in my experience.
