Alteryx and the competition

Can we view Alteryx as a Talend and a Splunk combined? Talend does the data integration part and Splunk the analytics part. Alteryx integrates both functions into one platform. Is that simple description accurate?

How does data security enter the picture for what each of these businesses do?
Simplistically, can we view security as a functional block that is not provided by companies like Talend or Splunk? I gather they may provide some features that will help data security but they are not in the business of securing a database. Or are those functions coupled with each other?
Apparently that is the case with Alteryx since it is now blamed for security breach to its platform.

Not accurate! They bought a database of info from Expieron and some dumba$$ left it on an unsecured AWS server (like in a “drop box”). Not at all their platform. If your 16 year old left your car keys on the roof of your car, you can hardly say the car’s security system was insuffcient.

so their product (if used properly) is not at fault?

so in your metaphor, AYX do make the car and/or the car locks?
