South Korean highly leveraged investors called “Ants”… and in the recent memory stock price decline caused in the last few days over 350~400K Ant accounts got liquidated, and they suffered $1.5 B dollars in losses. Aggressive trading, leveraged ETF, helped those young Koreans mainly < mid 30’s to bet aggressively make fortunes and lose those fortunes even faster.

1.2 M Brokerage accounts received margin calls this week in south korea!!! And $HOOD clients can now avail 7x leverage on certain perpetual futures, and 50x leverage on select assets.
At some point, I expect in a matter of months, US will have a flushing event similar to Korea. There was a flushing event occurred on crypto which bankrupted many retail accounts that used leverage.
For those who don’t realize, when you sell a put, it is a leverage too. Keep a close watch on your option positions.
