How is Appian different from Mule? Thank you
Software Engineer and Architect here.
Mule is a tried and true been around for quite a while high performance message bus and service/service orchestration platform. A software team designing a high performance system moving a lot of small messages and having web services would use this as a key infrastructure piece.
Appian is a drop in BPM tools which allow you to with minimal code develop business apps that integrate accross data sources.
Appian actually partners with Mule, and you can Appian on top of mule – mule provides the backend ‘developer’ tools, while Appian provides more end user/analyst “build your own app” tools. They also have some feature overlap.
How do you see their business prospects in their respective market? would Appian be a Mulesoft customer?
