Apple M1 Ultra

Put two 432mm2 M1 Max chips on the same interposer. Add 128GB LPDDR5 with 32 channels and 800GB/second of memory bandwidth. Link the two dies with 2.5TB/second of bandwidth. Add in transparent multi-GPU with more power than a RTX 3090. Then enclose everything in a space smaller than 8x8x4 inches. Sell it for $4k to $8k, depending on the configuration.

I was suitably impressed by it. And Apple’s not done. They still intend to produce an M1 Mac Pro, likely available by year’s end. My guess is it will feature yet another doubling of the silicon, perhaps with two M1 Ultras (comprising 4 M1 Max chips), or potentially even more! I’m sure the price could double as well. Not sure how the interconnect method - Apple calls it UltraFusion - could/would be extended to support that though.
