I have, on a number of occasions when paying for an expensive item (like, say, a cruise) opened multiple credit card accounts and just paid the “bonus” portion of each reaping essentially about 10% incremental refund in cash or frequent flyer/hotel/whatever points.
There are a number of web sites devoted to parallel types of activity. Over my lifetime, I have been guilty of a number of similar opportunistic games in a number of fields. Apparently this sort of innovative activity is rare enough compared to the benefits of the offers to companies that opportunities are constantly presented.
Few things have gotten my goat more than to see everyone except me pay for cruises with credit card bonuses and then see well coifed/manicured, fur coated TMF investors get into their Mercedes and drive off.
