Cash position Well I finally found some places to deploy cash this month. I bought a fairly large position in DDOG, and added to several other positions this month, and my cash fell all the way from 32.6% to 16.6%. I’m happy with that, and I’m ready for stocks to start going up again.

Zoom (ZM) 13.9%, up from 7.2%
10/31/2020: $460.91
12/4/2020: $410.01
12/31/2020: $337.32 Market Cap Approx: $103b
01/29/2021: $372.07 Market Cap Approx: $114b
02/26/2021: $373.61 Market Cap Approx: $114b

Zoom is one of the stocks I have added to the most. As we’ve drawn closer to the earnings report they’ll be giving on Monday, I’ve felt more and more confident that it will be a strong one. The market seemed to be thinking likewise earlier in February, but as the sell off we’ve seen in other stocks hit ZM as well, I added quite a bit.

Crowdstrike (CRWD) 12.9%, down from 14.5%
10/31/2020: $123.84
12/4/2020: $167.26
12/31/2020: $211.82 Market Cap Approx: $50b
01/29/2021: $215.80 Market Cap Approx: $51b
02/26/2021: $216.00 Market Cap Approx: $51b

I trimmed CRWD slightly when it was up earlier this month. I haven’t added back…yet. I’m expecting really good things from CRWD, and I’m placing some options bets on their upcoming earnings, but that’s off topic for Saul’s board.

Cloudflare (NET) 12.5%, down from 15.2% last month
10/31/2020: $51.97
12/4/2020: $77.35
12/31/2020: $75.99 Market Cap Approx: $23b
01/29/2021: $76.66 Market Cap Approx: $23b
02/26/2021: $73.97 Market Cap Approx: $23b

We had a really great opportunity to trim NET before they reported a few weeks ago. I trimmed it a lot at $85+ and even once at $90+. I’ve since bought a lot of that back.

Docusign (DOCU) 11.1%, down from 11.3%
10/31/2020: $202.25
12/4/2020: $243.22
12/31/2020: $222.30 Market Cap Approx: $47b
01/29/2021: $232.89 Market Cap Approx: $49b
02/26/2021: $226.66 Market Cap Approx: $48b

I didn’t touch DOCU in February. I am sitting on my hands…a lot of people seem to think DOCU’s revenue growth rate will rapidly decline. I’m not one of them. I think they’ll accelerate when they report in a couple weeks.

Datadog (DDOG) 8.8%,, up from 0.0%
02/26/2021: $95.41 Market Cap Approx: $33b

It is rare that I’ll build up a stock that I’m not in at the beginning of the month into a fairly large position by the end of the month, but then, DDOG reported a rare quarter. Customer growth, large customer spend, and sequential growth rates are all pointing in the right direction. I believe they will re-accelerate in a couple quarters.

Asana (ASAN) 6.5%, up from 4.4%
12/31/2020: $29.55 Market Cap Approx: $4.7b
01/29/2021: $35.37 Market Cap Approx: $5.6b
02/26/2021: $34.63 Market Cap Approx: $5.5b

I thought ASAN had gotten away from me as it hit $40+ earlier this month. When I got another opportunity to add around $35, I added a bunch. Still not ready to make this a large position, but I am eagerly awaiting their report in a couple weeks. Hopefully that gives me the confidence to add even more.

Bandwidth (BAND) 5.4%, up from 4.0%
12/31/2020: $153.67 Market Cap Approx: $4.2b
01/29/2021: $178.13 Market Cap Approx: $4.9b
02/26/2021: $158.36 Market Cap Approx: $4.4b

I added to BAND a bit this month in anticipation of their quarterly report yesterday on 2/25. The top line revenue growth was 82%, but like TWLO, BAND benefited from political spend and an acquisition. Still, the numbers looked great, and I’ll consider adding. Not a top confidence position yet, but I’m happy with a mid-sized position. This looks to be a great review on the quarter…can’t wait to read it: https://discussion.fool.com/bandwidth-band-review-and-q4-results…

Upstart (UPST) 3.9%, up from 0.0%
02/26/2021: $65.64 Market Cap Approx: $4.8b

Here’s another place some of my cash went. I am working on a write up for the board. Coming soon!

Etsy (ETSY) 3.4%, down from 3.7%
10/31/2020: $121.59
12/4/2020: $155.03
12/31/2020: $177.91 Market Cap Approx: $24b
01/29/2021: $199.09 Market Cap Approx: $27b
02/26/2021: $220.27 Market Cap Approx: $31b

I was unsure what to expect from ETSY’s guidance for 2021, so I trimmed it. That was a mistake. They guided for 135% growth in Q1 – and the sequential numbers were amazing. I’ve started to add back, and will likely add more. Check out this thread if you’re interested: https://discussion.fool.com/etsy-4th-quarter-results-34763165.as…

Lightspeed (LSPD) 1.3%, up from 0.0%
02/26/2021: $68.42 Market Cap Approx: $8.1b

This is a little position I’ve been trying to sell myself on more, but I can’t seem to bring myself to add much. I think there’s a lot of hope for it, but it’s a little hard to follow. Here’s a thorough post about it: https://discussion.fool.com/lspd-a-new-position-34744143.aspx

2U (TWOU) 0.6%, down from 2.5%
01/29/2021: $40.90 Market Cap Approx: $2.8b
02/26/2021: $39.63 Market Cap Approx: $2.9b

TWOU reported a very good quarter, I thought, but I’m just keeping a tiny position for now. It’s a forgotten company, and I don’t know if that will change. I’m just keeping it on the radar.

Stocks I’ve sold

I sold ZS and TLND for very different reasons this month. Talend was a successful trade for me, but it went up faster than the business improved. The stock may keep going up, but I lost interest. ZS, on the other hand, had a great quarter (reported yesterday 2/25), but I was already out. I sold when it was up earlier in the month and I’m ok with that. It goes in the bucket with TWLO, OKTA, and several other great companies I like but just can’t find room for, or muster enough interest in.

Closing Thoughts

February was a tease…the first half was amazing, and now I find my portfolio lighter than it was at the end of January. Oh well, may March bring us better results!

If you don’t mind, I see you have sold and bought the same position later. Are you doing it in non-taxable (retirement related) accounts or taxable accounts? Thanks!

Hi manary,
That was an Off-Topic question for the board, as well as being a one-liner which adds nothing. Please ask questions like that off board with a question direct to the recipient. This one will be deleted.
