Big promise from Trade Desk CEO

Jeff Green of The Trade Desk believes they can gather a bigger data set (of consumer internet data to be used for ad targeting) than Google or Facebook:…

“Our ID footprint will be larger than any single company login footprint…”

Green noted that while Facebook has 1.3 billion active users, there are over 4 billion web users in the world, a number that continues to grow.

That seems like kind of a big deal. Could be a bit of a headline grabber, an Elon Musk style over-promise. But I’m interested to see what comes of it. A few big strategic partnerships could really be the ticket for this little company.

I guess if I truly believed they could pull it off, I would add to my 4.5% position, but I think I’ll just hold for now, and keep watching to see what TTD can do.
