Looks like we broke through the 52-week low.

As for a 52 week low…BOO!

As for a 52 week low…BOO!
I don’t know. Makes for a nice entry point. Started a holding here.
That it does…now, if it could just hold that until Thursday so I could buy more (pesky trading rules)
We be scraping along the bottom again today…until the bottom falls out, that is.
PBV 1.25x , per Barchart.com (a very useful site).
Historical normal range 1.2 - 1.5x (ish)
Historical extreme range 0.9 - 1.65x (ish)
I think we’re in extreme times so I’m hoping to see 1.2x.
I think that’s very likely.
Looks like Q3 book value will be a little lower than Q2.
Could you expand on that please?
I don’t think so, I have instantaneous BV at $214.
BTW, I don’t like the new format. I hope we don’t loose some of our favorite contributors!
It’s likely that the stock portfolio will be down a few %.
How do you get to $214?
I have the stock portfolio up a bit mostly due to apple.
Yes, you are correct.
I get the top 6 holdings up about $10bn since June 30. That agree with yours?
My estimate for the portfolio is up 2.5bn. Add to that operating profits of ~7bn for a total gain of 9.5bn.
Apparently Mr. Market took offence to us spiking the football on a Q3 portfolio gain before time had expired.
This recent quick drop in Apple is very interesting. As well as affecting BRK’s end of quarter book calculation, it seems to have broken the spirit of a lot of bulls on the millenial/zoomer forums I follow. I had been beginning to wonder what it would take.
