It appears that Canada is aiming its tariffs at those states with competitive House and Senate races, and those with the highest percentage of Trump voters.

That’s a very cost effective way structure the tariff regime.

They’re truly “Giving them what they voted for – good and hard.”

I have not seen a list of items to pay tariffs. Looks like US will put tariffs on steel, aluminum and auto parts. Canada mostly on ag products like dairy, meat, and cheese. No mention of whiskey.

They say only abt 1% of imports affected. Most of us will hardly notice.
