Travel insurance is no longer covering COVID (because it is so common), but some cruises do not allow travel when infected with COVID. So if you book a cruise and get COVID, you could lose the fare. A friend got COVID a few months ago, just before they were going on a cruise. They had travel insurance that covered COVID, but are still trying to get the long list of documentation the insurance company is asking for. The US travel insurance company seems to have been surprised by the large number of COVID claims, and now no longer offers that coverage.
