TNG has reportedly boasted this administration will be the most pro-Israel in history. As Gomer would say “surprise, surprise, surprise”. The Muslim folks in metro Detroit were delusional.
Meanwhile, back on topic, the threatened tariffs on Canada and Mexico are supposed to start Feb 1st, next Saturday. TNG is surely emboldened, now that Colombia has bent the knee.

On March 21, 2019, TNG recognized Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights. On December 6, 2017, TNG recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the US embassy there, from Tel Aviv. Most other countries take a dim view of Israel claiming either occupied area as it’s own. These are moves that no previous US government had taken, since the areas were occupied in 1967.
The first son in law advocated ethnic cleansing in Gaza last April.
As one person offered, in the piece CBS News ran last week, many USian voters, including the Muslims in metro Detroit, seem to have the memory of gnats.

2 months ago CBS did detailed interviews with Michigan voters who’d lost family members to the Gaza genocide. (Muslims appear to have very large extended families)

In TNG’s 1st term, I believe one of his first actions was to put a ban on Muslims coming in to America:

I am not Muslim, but if I was, I would not align myself with

So,basically, I do not care to hear any whining from the metro Detroit Muslims concerning TNG. Of course, I will have the same attitude toward the working-class Americans who also ushered him back for a 2nd term.

I also remember reading about a Muslim American citizen from metro Detroit who went with her family to visit extended family in Windsor. They were not allowed back in the USA for a couple of weeks. They were not the only ones that had to deal with this.
You are a fan of TCG, I am not, so I seriously doubt we’re going to see eye to eye on this.

This is true, however, the fact remains it was styled as a Muslim ban, not a ban on people from unstable countries. Once official government sanction is allowed, based on religion, what is to keep it from being expanded. Expanded to Muslims from anywhere. Maybe require USian Muslims to wear a crescent symbol on their clothes so others know to “be wary” of them?

I remember when the Ethiopian army invaded Somalia, supposedly, to “restore order”. When reporting the invasion, the media was always careful to point out that the Somalis, (the ones causing the trouble) were Muslims, while the Ethiopians (the good guys trying to restore order), were Christians.

That is exactly what some of the Muslim US Citizens living in metro Detroit experienced first hand.
Collateral Damage, maybe, but if I was Muslim US Citizen it would be ingrained in my brain that a decree by TCG led to
some scary situations for Muslims. But they knew all this in November of 2024, but voted for TCG anyways.
