There is the opposing viewpoint, too, as expressed by one of the great intellectuals of the 20th century: “It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”
If you own the S&P 500, you’re also participating in the “AI goldmine”, since the big megacap players like Nvida, Microsoft, Google, etc. are over represented in the index.
Over the last 5 years or so, I’ve been selling my index funds and buying Berkshire instead to avoid excessive dividends in future years. As a result I don’t own much pure S&P500 (or any index for that matter) anymore.
