What legal authority do we have to stop (or worse, fire on) ships that accept that deal as a means to traverse the Strait? If India is willing to pay either party for safe passage, by what right do we have to stop India?
Iran and Oman by international law have no control or right of control.
All atraits fall under open right of way in international law. Iran’s leaders can be up on war crimes for killing people to take control.
We can defend international law.

We can’t defend international law when we explicitly do not recognize or have not otherwise ratified international law.
Heck, we can’t even follow our own law to release unredacted files…
We are in the wto. We are not in the icj. We are in wipo. We are in other organization like the UN.
