Did you know that you can watch a movie with no commercial interruptions if you download it first? I’m a Prime member, but don’t pay the extra fee for the no ad option, yet, I can download free Prime movies to my Kindle Fire and watch them ad-free, even while still connected to the internet.
I wonder if that works with the Fire Stick? I’ve not used a tablet for movies, we do have Prime, but have been looking at the Fire Sticks as an option for weekend when we rent homes up the coast at Sea Ranch for the family and the place may or may not have access to the prime or other movies sources…
Apparently not. This says that the Fire Stick doesn’t have local memory storage for that. See Reddit - Please wait for verification
But when I checked, all Fire Sticks do have at least 8 GM local storage. I don’t have one to test the download process.
Can you then cast them back to a big screen smart tv so you can avoid ‘small screen’ watching? That would be very nice!

Wonder if this works with serial shows? Don’t see why it would be different from a movie?
Might have to try casting to my big screen TV but that would require me to unplug the ethernet and connect it to the Wifi. Not difficult but not on my priority list.
The facility is there though I haven’t tried it yet. The instructions say you must run the Amazon Prime app on the device you are casting to.
I’ll add that for some reason, not all free Prime movies have the download option. Not sure why that would be other than probably wanting to force non-paying ad victims to watch ads on more popular or more recent movies.
