Thanks for sharing. I’m going to take a shocking position…Elon is hyper exaggerating again. There’s no way these jobs will be gone in the next 18 months.
- Elon has a long history of overinflated predictions that never come to fruition.
- There is extreme pushback from local communities against AI buildout. This pushback will extend to industries affected by AI intrusion.
- Most hyperscalers haven’t figured out how to monetize AI enough to pay back all their capex debt. This will slow, slow, slow down our economy. Blowback against AI will become fierce.
- Civil suits will eventually lead to regulation that will slow down development.
- Most people don’t care about the AI race against China. In many ways, we’ve already lost the race. Government, citizen, and shareholder appetite to keep dumping money into an uncompetitive industry will waaaaaaaaaannnnnneeeeeee!
I can’t believe we’re allowing a bunch of anti-social outcasts to speak at the G20.

I use Claude extensively. My nephew and his stepbrothers do as well.
Claude is “honest” because it takes time to get a response. Gemini and Chat give much faster answer, but miss the point because it takes time to answer.
Data Centers are not economical yet. Going fast means less computing. The dynamic is lost.
AI actually does nothing in the physical world. We do. It would be a miracle to get AI to do anything independently. I think Musk has lost it. He probably lost it a long time ago. At one time he was trying to be Christ, now?
Elon may be a G20 nation-state on his wealth alone.

Elon spoke at the innovation Ministerial meeting. It would seem appropriate to have one our great innovators share his insights.

Cooperation on AI regulation should have been the outcome, not the Carolina Principles light-touch approach. Elon’s innovation is more than cancelled out by his madmanity. The last thing we need is him giving advice to world leaders.

Great innovator? Please list Elon’s innovations. I am willing to give him credit to understand the critical bottleneck in engineering, design, and then bring smart people together to solve those problems, sell vision, etc.
Innovator… is a serious tag. Except his early days of coding, I don’t think he innovated anything meaningful.

Though he didn’t say that, not in the clip. He said, in his difficult to listen to way, “…it is impossible for a human to compete in writing software with AI. AI will just crush all humans at software…in 12-18 months”.
There are issues around security and IP, I expect.
Friend is in the biz. Using Claude and is more productive. He still has a job, though he’s a bit bored. Someone has to tell Claude what they want.
My clients know what they want but can’t articulate it. A great deal of my work has been figuring out how they want it to work. The programming part has always been quite easy, though time-consuming.
