After years of chipping away at infections, we are inviting a big resurgence of AIDS. The penny wise dollar foolish madness is excruciating.
The drug shown in the photo, Biktarvy, actually a one pill combining three drugs, is the drug I get for free here in Mexico. HIV is literally vanishing where I live because Mexico, like most sane nations, has made near eradication of the virus its goal, and it is using its public health service to accomplish that extremely potent cost and life saving goal.
During the time I have lived in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, the rate of infection in the state has fallen off a cliff, and AIDS is on the path to vanish. The opposite is about to take place in most of the USA.
Hard to say — is this mostly homophobic nastiness or sheer freaking stupidity? I am convinced that it is mostly the latter, with the homophobes acting as cheer leaders to the short term thinking idiots.
The stupidity of the USA on this matter illustrates how being rich, powerful, and ignorant leads to madness.
