As of yesterday, when I entered a stock symbol and went to that stock’s MF page, there was a link somewhere on the page that took me to a discussion board for that company.
Today, I don’t see any link to the discussion board.
I’ve tried several companies that are recommended by various services (Stock Advisor, Rule Breakers, Hidden Gems), but no luck.
Where did the links go? How do we get to the discussion boards for individual companies now?
I have sent messages to TMF through various formats asking the same question that i asked here, and i still haven’t received a reply.
It’s frustrating enough that what was a useful feature has disappeared, but to have no notice of it’s disappearance and of why it was done away with is even more frustrating.
I sometimes have difficulty finding boards, too. It seemed easier with the old TMF. The new TMF has some cool features, but -for me- it is not as intuitive to find boards that I haven’t favorited.
This isn’t about having trouble finding discussion boards on the New Fool website vs. the old Fool website. On the new Fool, the link to the discussion board was listed on the TMF page for that company. So you could enter the ticker for the company, go to the page, read information (including links to TMF articles about the company), then click on the link to the board discussion page for that company to read what other members had to say. These discussions were often very useful.
Now those links have disappeared without any notice that they were being removed. I’ve asked through several channels, including emailing help@fool.com and using the Contact Page to send messages.
I have NOT received any answers or help which is frustrating. The Motley Fool’s purpose statement is “To Make the World Smarter, Happier, and Richer.”
Removing the discussion board links contradicts each of these.
TMF’s not answering the questions prevents me and others from becoming smarter. The lack of a helpful response does not make anyone happier.
I finally heard from TMF regarding last week’s question about how to find the company discussion boards after the discussion board links were moved without any notice.
When you go to the company page, under the company name and stock price, there are 13 small categories listed, starting with “Summary” and “Financials.”
There are two rows of these categories. On the bottom right just above the chart is a category labelled “Company Details”
Click on this, the scroll to the bottom right under the “Key Executives” column, and there is “Discuss [Company Name] with Fools.”
So far it has worked with 4 companies that I checked.
There was no response to my question about why this change was not mentioned before it happened.
