I was in car accident backing out of spot and hit a car behind me. It was dark and snowy and the driver or I couldn’t see much in the way of damage. I gave him my info and said just check it out in the daylight and let me know if I need to repair anything. It turned out because of front sensors and other things the estimate was $1,800.
The repair cost was totally legitimate even though I was a little shocked but wrote a check rather than report it to my insurer. 4 months goes by and the guy texts me to ask if we can meet up. He hands me a check for $600. He found a friend that could fix the car for cheaper than the original estimate. Despite me telling him to keep the difference, he insisted that it was the right thing to do.
I guess that’s how I view it. The money has little impact on my life but it was the right thing to do. .

If the surplus is at the state level but the property tax reduction is at the local/municipal level ?
As I understand it, Florida is creating a trust fund that will be allocated to munis to address shortfalls in local budgets. The details of which I do not have at this point. This may actually be quite beneficial to parts of Florida. Admittedly, the state has some great disparity between rich and poor areas. Where wealthy areas use their property taxes locally, it could be a way to spread distributions more equitably with poorer areas. I don’t know if that will happen I just thought that may be one potential positive outcome. .
Given that NY educated voters didn’t elect Ron DeSantis, I’d say emphatically yes.

Good luck with that, rest assured, you won’t being seeing any property tax cuts. Free stuff for as far as the eye can see.
