Foreign students are limiting wage inflation: Benjamin Tal

Benjamin Tal, deputy chief economist at CIBC, joins BNN Bloomberg and talks about that international students, who number over 600,000 in Canada at present, are an important source of labour, especially in low-wage sectors. While 50-60 per cent of these students are estimated to be working, Tal believes their share is being under-counted, and also notes Canada’s job market would be much tighter, and wage inflation higher, without them.
