Those alliances go to the UK, Ireland, Japan, SK, Australia, the rest of the EU and some other places.
The Indian perspective looking at the West was not rooted in the Post WW II alliances. Not as deeply anyway.
India is becoming a major alliance.
The US acts out of many issues that form the alliances.
Israel is in a hot spot. Germany less so. Japan less so. The UK less so.
The EU is being asked to pull its weight because the EU is equally rich to the US and can pull its weight. It is a reasonable request being leveraged by a soft abandonment to stir things into action. The EU gets it and is responding.
We have split a lot of blood and treasure on our alliances.
Stop singling out any of our alliances as less than the next. They all matter.
In economic terms the cycle is shifting right now. There is economic fall out.
