I’ve often been intrigued by the many voices that come to this board not with ideas but simply with words of caution. For the first time, though, I remembered a quote I’ve seen attributed to Goethe (but not sourced):
“If you must tell me your opinions, tell me what you believe in. I have plenty of doubts of my own.”
I do appreciate the reality checks, but I appreciate much more those of you who have suggested to the board companies you own, defended them and argued for them, maybe even changed your mind or the minds of others on certain points, and made us all better investors for the discussions in 2017.
