It will have to be cut and probably means tested for many Americans on a much more restrictive basis. Europe is our future and their long term budgeting is already anticipating some massive cuts to social funding programs.
We’ll have to prioritize the most fragile and vulnerable in our society. Your approach doesn’t fill in the gap, either in terms of economic investment or tax revenue. It might actually make it worse. It isn’t an argument against higher tax rates but rather the excessiveness of your proposed rate and the assumptions of how economic activity will play out.
