Does anyone know why the GTR1 back-tester doesn’t have data since 10 March? When I run the screener, that is that default date. When I try writing in today’s date directly I get an error message:
end=20230320 is invalid. (Nearest market date is 20230310.)
In the WER Yahoo group, Robbie wrote this tonight:
<<It hasn’t been updated since 3/10/2023 due to a hard drive failure. I’m having to get the data recovered because Backblaze was not backing up everything I intended for it to.>>
Actually, he did have backups going. What happened was that an update to the OS changed the settings to his backups, and thus it went from full to partial backups.
If anyone knows of an academic in a finance or econ department, please let me (and Robbie) know.
DW works at a local college in their career counseling dept. They work with students and other college service providers to help students polish their resume, develop interview skills, dress for success, etc.
Many students need internship credits on their resume. Would Robbie be able to specify the functional requirements so that a college intern (or intern team) would be able to reproduce the model? I’m thinking finance graduate students.
Given the terms and conditions of the CRSP data or other sources (Vee Ell), am I correct in thinking that’s a big ask? I thought that data was pretty locked down at least legally. I’ll put out some feelers but for the donor the risk is pretty asymmetric.
He needs an academic in Finance or Econ to be able to access the full CRISP database. I don’t think he needs either tech help or coding help. Mostly it is to reconstruct the database that he had before.
