Half of Americans leave vacation time on the table

I think people respect the necessary work of accountants, but get upset when the “bean counters” start to make engineering or medical decisions.

That’s a pity. Was she not able to take sick time off between June and November, and then go back to work for a week or a month and retire in December instead?

I guess she could have, but she works for a local college and their fiscal year ends on June 30, so she elected to retire on June 30 for finishing up her benefits and getting on SS and Medicare as of July 1. She is really done with her job, and the thing about her not taking sick days is because the team she works with has already been decimated and there’s plenty of work to do with the students and she does not want to seem like “not a team player”.

So she’s forfeiting those days just to remain a team player, go out taking the high road, and saying Sayonara for good! Next week!!!

I dunno. Either way she’s not a player on that team between June and November!
