Can you use the median income and compare it to the average health care cost?

In 2021, the average US household income was $88,000 vs. the median of $62,000

Of course, older people as a group have higher health care spending. And the sickest 5% of any age group tend to account for about half of healthcare spending.

Any way you slice it, the US spends a lot more than any other wealthy country for poorer results. The only metric we have a solid lead in is excessive Executive Compensation in the health insurance industry.
