Honking to neighbors

The fact that no one anticipated this makes one wonder what else they’re missing

Waymo driverless cars are coming alive at night, honking at each other and waking residents around the San Francisco parking lot where they sit when not making trips.

The driverless taxi company has rented a lot outside of an apartment building for the cars to idle in, but the vehicles appear to be honking at each other, as they are trained to do on the road when other cars get close to them…

Waymo attributed the disruptive honking to a feature designed to avoid collisions.

The cars are talking to each-other. Remember Furbies? Supposedly, Furbies initially only spoke “Furbish”, but would learn English as people spoke to them. But, if you put two Furbies together, they would develop Furbish beyond their initial programming. The cars are conspiring to take over the world!

Speaking of honking, in my neighborhood people are complaining about the new electronic devices intended to repel invading animals by broadcasting high frequency sound. Some say they can hear the high frequency sound and find it irritating.

Should these devices be banned or regulated

Funny, but minor fix. This is a new frontier with a “fog of technology advancement” style lack of visibility.
