Costco is $3.89 at one of the two warehouses I visit.
I agree with you, it’s going to get a lot worse. Good for hybrid and EV sales, though. When it starts pushing $5, many people will likely factor that in when making new vehicle purchases. That’s what happened last time. Dealers couldn’t keep hybrids on the lots, and trade-in monster pickups were overwhelming dealers (at least locally).
Five decades of inaction have not worked. How about trying action? Or you could just surrender… You might have a problem with mullahs running your country…
Not perfect, maybe, but the track record is light years better than dropping bombs.
I tend to disagree about gas prices, however. The are going to rise, but that will be short term because TACO. And you can be sure they are pulling every plug they can find to ameliorate the issue. When the pressure gets only slightly greater, expect the biggest chicken bake in the past two decades. It will be proclaimed as a great victory, of course.
Why should anyone have to negotiate at all? We are not negotiating with SA or Lebanon, or anyone else West or East. Who says the right hand side of that graph is any different? We should not have to negotiate. We were under duress to negotiate…more or less…fight a war with us or we get the bomb. What sort of negotiation is that? Or you get peace until we change our minds. Meanwhile Iran has perpetually declared war on the US.
BTW is that chart the evidence that now we had to go to war? Because Trump was right that Iran wants a nuke at any cost? How can you blame Trump for something we should not have to negotiate? Oh and Yemen and Syria among others killing with Iranian aid, it matters.
Is it even 600 dead yet? What is your case against this war? Loss of life? The month before we got involved 150k as the number of dead floated around, with 40k we know dead in two days.
In that vein, while mostly theoretical, the TD3C route (270,000 mt Middle East Gulf to China) is being assessed 248 points higher than a week ago at WS473.33, which corresponds to a daily round trip TCE of$485,959 for the standard Baltic VLCC. The Saudis are actively switching their oil output from RasTunura to Yanbu [on the Red Sea] via the Petroline (Saudi East-West pipeline, but this has limitation on their capacity.
