I bought a iPhone 17 Pro today. I am guessing that the 18 won’t have that much more that is important to me and will be much more expensive. I guess I’ll know for sure in a few weeks. Regardless I got a good trade in from Apple on my 13 Pro Max. Always glad to help out my fellow AAPL investors every few years.

Every customer helps! I barely use my M2 iPad Pro from a few years ago. And I don’t even have an iPhone. A cheap Samsung Android phone on a Tracfone cheap plan (150/year) suits me just fine, though after several years it has gotten dog slow.

I shoot a lot of photos with my phone. I enjoy shooting with my Nikon, but I always have my iPhone with me. I’m looking forward to the improved phone in the new one.

I’m no photographer and don’t really notice any egregious flaws with the photos I take with the “mediocre” cameras in my 130 buck Samsung Galaxy A15:

Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.8 + 5MP, f/2.2 + 2MP, f/2.4

Front Camera: 13MP, f/2.0

Though I do find the front camera (selfie) photos not high resolution enough. You’d think 13MP would be just fine, but seemingly not.

I can’t believe many typical buyers of the latest iPhone would really notice a difference either. The endless incremental improvements to smart phone cameras are mostly meaningful only to professional photographers and “photophiles”.

Every bit helps! TY! - It’s been a while since I’ve updated any Apple hardware, 2023, with he Mac Min M@ & an iMac’s arrival, iPone 15’s are aging well, altho DW does have charging/battery life problems, maybe her own making, but survivable for now…An inventory of old MacBooks, iGooks, iPad is more a history record, unused, really as we travel less.. All good waiting on 27 OS’s…

I’ve got a 14 Pro Max. Works well enough, though the battery is at 80% of where it started. I figure on waiting for the 18s to come out, then upgrade to a 17. I read one of those articles about what they expect from the 18. It said something about changing the way the buttons work, maybe more like the way fingers do on the screen? That sounded like something I would not be happy with, but the 17 is still “normal”.
