New POTUS has made an illegal and highly dangerous move, midnight at the beginning of a weekend. Stay tuned and stay alert, and might I add, time to look more than marginally at protecting a future for the Republic.
Here is a Congressional Research Service article discussing the notification requirements to remove an Inspector General. Current law requires a 30 day notice to Congress before an IG can be removed. It would not be possible for that notice requirement to have been met in this case. (3 page PDF)

Lack of oversight is now the prerogative of power.
Weâre going to look like Viktor Orbanâs Hungary by the end of the First Quarter.

So the Inspectors General will be given 30 days of paid leave (taking away their authority as well) before being fired.
What would he do if they ignored the âfiringâ since it is illegal?
Pete
Have them arrested and physically hauled out of the building?
Steve
Maybe, but then that puts a spotlight on something that may not be wished for, much like going after the Jan. 6 committee members: in any proceedings, they would get a chance to put out all facts and evidence, very publicly.
Pete
But would anyone cover what they said, and be accused of the crime of âfake newsâ?
Steve
If they âbelieveâ, then it must be true. They do have the official paperwork showing what they claim. Which is what they are trying to keep from the public.
It was malicious obedience and should not be laid on the Potusâs door step.
No doubt the firings will be challenged in court. Court may wind up giving them back pay. Will they continue to be suspended while they wait for court decisions?
