VKTX reported yesterday. It is a small bio company. I do not like investing in Bio companies because they are far out of my wheel house. But VKTX has both an injectable obesity drug that just went through phase 2 and is now into phase 3. It also has an oral drug that treats obesity that finished phase 1 and is now moving into phase 2.
In the pipe line they also have a nash and fibrosis drug that just finished phase 2b and a drug that treat X-ALD that is in Phase 1b. (I have no idea what X-Ald is but the reason I am interested in the company is because of it’s oral weight loss pill)
Anyway they reported yesterday and they are not making any money, which is one of the reasons I hate Bio, but they seem to be moving forward and have enough cash to finish they rest of their studies.
Like I said I have no clue on Bio but I do like where this company is invested and how it is moving forward. Their real problem is getting through phase 3 and then getting the product to market. It will be very expensive to produce. But I think if they get through phase 3 someone will either buy them out or partner with them. The efficacy of their weight loss drugs seems to be above par. I have a position in VKTX.
