Is rotation giving the market legs?

That is what they say, but I’ve owned it probably 90% of the time from 2009 until now, so you be the judge:

Helped me take a 100k roth conversion in 2008/2009* (not all of it invested in QLD - but the always the largest holding) to just over 900k. If only I had simply left it alone and never sold it.

*Back when we had that special option to do a conversion and spread the taxable income over two years.

Wow! Very impressive.

Thanks, but it was inertia (and a beneficial lack of wisdom at the time) than any skill.

It means you don’t get the full 2x or 3x performance, but your returns are still juiced.

Cash is liquid (what the Federal Reserve calls “MZM” or money of zero maturity). I like money market funds which are paying about 5%.

The options market is predicting declining interest rates so MZM yield will fall. A cash-like alternative is Treasury bills that can be laddered to mature every 3 months into the future, locking in today’s yields.

These can be bought from Treasury Direct but it’s more convenient to by from a brokerage such as Fidelity.

Retirement investing is a 50 to 60 year project. For most it will be 25 to 30 years of saving for retirement, and God-willing 25-30 years spending the money in retirement.

I ‘d argue that you’ll want to remain invested throughout, with the possible exception of maintaining 10 years’ worth of living expenses in fixed income if you’re following the 4% rule for retirement withdrawals.

That has been explained to you. It is a trade off, you work 9 - 5 and go sit down somewhere afterwards.

That is not my ball plan.

I should be in the game at age 90. If I do not quite make 90, I still consider my life as successful. I will probably make 94 as so many of my mother’s family have. Grandma making 98 was the exception. Dad’s family does not have heart problems or cancer.

You play the hand you are dealt. In that we are in agreement.

What most people do is none of my business.

I have 5 businesses and a job. The probable biggest money maker is the video game. For an artist nothing like NOT asking for money and getting paid a royalty stream. Artists were not meant to get paid but the video game industry is the largest arts industry in the world.

I feel I can have a massive monthly income. I am nearing completion of the game.

I will target individual equities. I could care less about the market.

The question of where the market goes is like ignoring the valuable trees in the forest.

I hope in three weeks to have completed the game. Talked with a family member who is a programmer last weekend. He called that extremely aggressive. I did not disclose the game design to him.

Talking now with another family member my MIT computer scientist nephew he sees it happening.

My nephew a gamer sees my game as unique and very interesting. If I only get a tiny fragment of the market for three months I’d make a few million dollars. The game goes well beyond that easily.

I do not generally talk about assets but it is time to discuss that much.

I did introduce my second game concept to my nephew. I saw a glimmer in his eyes. LOL And a small wow came out.

I am a third rate programmer if that. But design is a different matter.

Which platforms are you using? iOS and Android, or dedicated gaming devices (Xbox, switch, etc)?

Playfab on top of Azure. Microsoft

The main platforms will be PC, Mac, Steam, XBox, Nintendo, and Playstation. I do not yet know how many smaller platforms I will have as launchers. I have not looked on Playfab to see if there is one generic option to be on several of them.

I am using UE 5.4.

I have the assets.

I have limited coding, study, and setup to do.

If you know gamemaking that last sentence makes no sense. My design is different. The entire development process is different.

When the indices are moving 10%, 20%, yet it is relevant. At the same time NVDA lost $450 B in market cap, you should read them together.
