I had covid first week of July.
I’m NOT going to mask, or avoid people.
If I see an obviously ill person, I’ll selectively avoid her/him. COVID ain’t the only pathogen out there: flu, RSV, common cold, West Nile Virus**, mpox**, etc.
So why am I not gonna mask or avoid?
The immune system “resets” the antibodies, T-cells, and immune response, every time a body gets infected.
After the July/first infection, I now have an immune response to the variant available in July - the summer variant.
If I come into contact today, and get infected today, my immune response will MOST LIKELY* respond so quickly that I will not register any “illness” at all.
And my immune response will be “reset” with a new round of highly active responses: antibodies and T-cells. Fast acting short term/lived, medium acting/lived, and long lasting/lived.
In mid to late October, I’ll get the recommended vaxes. (COVID, flu, ?)

- There’s always the possibility that a “second infection” will cause illness symptoms, and even death - whether your immune response comes from natural (wild pathogen) or artificial (vaccine) exposure.
- that’s why the authorities say a vax will “lessen symptoms” if you get infected, but will not keep you from getting symptoms/illness.
** Mpox is spread by close physical contact.
** West Nile Virus is spread by mosquito. It’s endemic in TX since early 2000s.
