The competition for winning teams gets tougher. How much will taxpayers pay for a team? For sale to the highest bidder?
It would actually be for sale to whomever offered the highest profit to the (current?) owner(s) of the team(s) involved.
Some thoughts on this latest stadium sweepstakes. Which state is dumb enough to win the prizes?

That was a great post on Shrewd. I’ve read other studies that also conclude that Stadium Subsidies are a great, great deal for the private owner, and a ridiculously bad deal for the tax payers who are getting fleeced. And it’s not just the stadium costs ( and the requisite overruns ), but the infrastructure costs are very high as well. NFL teams have 8 regular season games, it is fantasy-land story that the local State politicians are pitching to the tax payers on behalf of the NFL owner. It ranks right up there with cutting Federal taxes will lower the deficit, all one needs to do is look at a graph of the debt with the tax cuts marked to see that that is a fairy tale. Hopefully people are waking up.
It is 100% welfare for billionaires.
