Kristallnacht, with cheese

File this under AI gone wrong, or using AI as an excuse for a severely incompetent marketing team.

In Germany, push notifications were sent to KFC users offering to celebrate Kristallnacht by adding cheese flavoring to their fried chicken.

The company blames a version of AI which pairs “holidays” with promotions, and says this one somehow got past the humans…

Yeah, there won’t be any jobs for humans anymore. Right.

Proposed translation: We sincerely hope (by all our executive bonuses) that the cost of this PR disaster will not exceed the significant savings we realized by automating our PR machinery, closely supervised by highly educated professionals who weeded out the gibberish it would produce, aided by their cultural background… at least initially, until that outsourcer came along with an irresistable offer.
