Mac Photos Oddity

No idea why, but yesterday when I plugged my iPhone 15 into the Mac Mini M2 Photos did not Open, nor did my iPhone show up in Deveces in the sidebar, so the only way I could get a few pic in, was to Export from the iPhone to the Mac, where they end up in the Downloads folder, not Photos…

Normal, until yesterday, plug in the iPhone, Photos Opens, and select, and in they go.

Chased Settings, of both iPhone and Phots, saw nothing to force 'Devices to show up… Rebooted both a couple times, no help… A note in the Apple Discussion boards spoke of simply reversing the USBc cable, well, mine is, has been hooked ups via a splitter to USBa to USBc cable, but before trying another cable, I just unplugged, replugged the USBa end, BINGO! It returned to its normal, expected action, showing up in Devices when I plug in the USBc end! No clue why it stopped working or why it works again, that USBa end has been there for months…

Some thing are, and remain, mysteries!

I’ve been making discoveries, or maybe re-discoveries, an old computer bag yielded two G4 iBooks, the old white ones, with their power cords dead batteries, but both charged up OK, only one actually booted, still has personal data on it, 10.5.8 OS, but the other, doesn’t boot, nor did it when I put it in there, per the sticky note, tried the old OS 10 Install disk, once I found that bin, still won’t go to it, gets to the Apple, but then the Ø pops up, so had to look up how to eject the CD/DDVD, Cmd+Opt+O+F, so, back in the bag it goes…

So the count is up, 2 iBooks, 2 MacBook Pros need batteries, and my little 11" MacBook Air we take along on trips… Mac Pro, is a prop for my desk extension , an old 27" iMac stares at me, needing an SSD, but… Someday… Maybe…
