Maersk vessels are still calling at Russian ports. But, that’s just to complete delivery of cargos ordered prior to the Ukraine invasion. But that will soon stop, both inbound and outbound.
What’s at stake?
- Well, there’s 50,000 empty containers, for one.
- Maersk, which has been active in Russia since 1992, said last week it would sell all its assets in Russia, including its 30.75% stake in Russian port operator Global Ports Investments GLPRq.L, whose shareholders include Russian state nuclear company Rosatom and Russian businessman Sergey Shiskarev.
- About 2.5% of annual revenue from Russia
There is a comment about potentially getting some of the containers via rail. Made me wonder, are the Chinese railway runs via Russia still continuing?
