Major shipbuilder deal

First thread in the new format

New deal on the table for South Korean defense & energy conglomerate Hanwha to take over one of South Korea’s major shipbuilders, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).
DSME is currently majority-owned by Korea Development Bank (KDB) and the deal would have easier approval than prior DSME deals

More details here –

DSME is one of the three South Korean shipbuilders who reserved building slots in support of the major Qatari effort to upgrade their LNG fleet. That is ongoing activity, so DSME have steady work for at least some of their docks on an ongoing basis
