More measles cases have been reported in the United States in the last two years than in all the years from 2000 through 2024 combined.
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr has ended vaccine research, and eliminated all funds for mRNA programs
Another aspect of “let’s make a deal” government.
If it ain’t broke, don’t hire a lawyer to fix it.
Looking at our neighbors to the north, Canada reported over 5,000 cases in 2025. For the 2000-24 period the grand total was 2232, so they did it in just one year.

vast majority of infected individuals were unvaccinated, reflecting declining immunization coverage rates…
Proving my point, thank you
Makes sense, since vaccinations prevent measles 97% of the time.

This is a problem that’s been brewing for well over 20 years now. The revitalized anti vaxx community built momentum in the years following the publication of Andrew Wakefield’s case report study in the late 1990s, purporting to show a link between the MMR vaccine and autism. Took off sufficiently to withstand the retraction of that paper and his loss of his medical license for fraud. Been building like compound interest since and the numbers of unvaccinated individuals is high enough for a big resurgence.
This isn’t restricted to the US…or the MMR vaccine (polio is another)…or humans, come to that. Pet owners are avoiding many vaccines for their companion animals…including rabies.
Yes, h e lost his medical license in the UK for fraud, now working with rfk jr helping set our national health policy.

Well, a good many of the anti vaxx /anti science in general crowd…and those who’re influenced/bamboozled by them … oftentimes aren’t what you’d call technically “uneducated”. Quite the reverse in many cases. Even a background in the biomedical sciences isn’t always a guarantee that you’re going to get a rational opinion on topics where some sort of “controversy” can be conjured up … look at the random YouTube videos that get posted on this board after a brief opinion search via Google AI overview.

Before the Salk vaccine was licensed in 1955, U.S. polio cases peaked in 1952 with over 58,000 total cases (including more than 21,000 paralytic cases).
Yeah, very controversial…

The uneducated are essential to maintaining low taxes on billionaires. That’s why they are celebrated.
