METARs: stop infesting the board with politics!

The METAR board is being infested by political squabbling AGAIN. That’s the reason the “No Politics” rule was implemented in the first place.

From now on, I will flag any post that is not specifically economic and investing oriented. No more posts about the war in Israel! I will flag them for removal. No more posts about any war (or other topic) unless they specifically impact investments. (Except for posts about technology and science which impact future developments.) Off-topic posts of interest are a feature, not a bug, of METAR but they MUST be labeled OT or they will be flagged for removal. And NO political posts even if they are labeled OT!

No more comments about interactions between public figures UNLESS there is a specific impact on our investments. I will flag them for removal. No more nasty comments about politicians. I will flag them for removal even if the rest of the post is acceptable.

Post your opinions on a different board if you can’t control your impulses. This squabbling has to stop! METAR is an investment board!

@TMF monitors, please remove flagged posts promptly since the opinions which don’t belong on METAR only provoke other OT opinions.

I think this is an example of an acceptable post, agreed?

The article highlights the following investment sectors flourishing as a result of the war - Wall Street investment banks, Prediction markets, Aerospace and defense, AI, and Renewable energy.

Taking advantage of the war’s impacts through my investment strategy feels medium icky, apart from investing in renewable energy. Is it acceptable for me to share that on this board?

Yes, this is an acceptable post since it focuses on investment returns.

As for feeling icky…your investments aren’t going to change the big picture. We METARs are like seagulls flying in a turbulent wind near cliffs. We can only adjust our wings.
