Nit: for kids in poorer zip codes. I live in a zip code with many families above that $150K cutoff who will be eligible because our median is below it. Meanwhile a poor family renting a small apartment in a nicer part of town will be out of luck. Seems like an odd way to target the benefit but whatever - plaudits to the Dells.

How else could they do it? They won’t have access to everyone’s tax returns for this program. So they’re using the next best thing … zip code average data.
I think it should be made universal, just automatically fund an account for EVERY kid born. That’s a lot easier and doesn’t result in claims of unfairness or similar things.
