I wonder how MSTR would have done if Saylor had just bought back shares with all his free cash.

A lot of people say that some recent market conditions remind them of the late stages of the stech bubble.

But in this case, it’s a bit too hard to miss.
And note the date: about 10 days after the tech bubble market top, depending which index you watch.

Is this the same Microstrategy that used to sell Cobol development tools? I used to compete with them if so, what a journey from Cobol to Bitcoin speculator….

I knew them as middleware developers. I wrote a data warehousing strategy paper/business plan for them in the mid 1990s.

Yikes, I just realized it is the same company, then and now.
I figured the name had gone defunct and a new company started up, but nope…as you say, what a journey ending up at bitcoin.
Their website sections are, shall we say, incongruous: Enterprise analytics, Embedded analytics, solutions, … Bitcoin.

I had a look at their entire stock price history, specifically the largest drops in 3 trading days.
Amazingly, the recent plunge of 40% merely squeaks into the top 5.

For the boss of a firm like t hat, maybe Bitcoin does look like a stable store of value.
