Negative in the screener colulmns

Several stocks I own are now in the “negative” column of conviction, but I’ve seen no suggestion about selling those stocks. What is the difference between being in the Negative conviction column and getting a note advising me to sell?

Hi Horningj1933,

This is a public fool.com board. I would suggest re-posting your question (and naming the companies) on a service board where you are a member.

Sometimes a company will fall into this category because it should likely be a sell (say Luckin’ Coffee) sometimes it is simply because the stock is pricey and a company that an analyst thought might be a short candidate.

Most often companies in this category are simply underfollowed outside their recommending services. Your analyst team still thinks the company is a buy until they put it in the penalty box or sell it.
