Novelis to build aluminum recycling plant in Alabama with up to 1,000 jobs

Novelis Inc. said Wednesday it plans to spend about $2.5 billion to build a low-carbon recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette, Ala., with an initial 600 kilotons of finished aluminum goods capacity per year. The facility will employ up to 1,000 people.
Novelis said the project marks the first fully integrated aluminum mill built in the U.S. in 40 years.
