"Nutrition labels" for broadband Internet

FCC wants bait & switch providers to provide download speed and cost information in a standard format that more easily allows price shopping.

Good luck with that. iirc, there used to be a law that, to advertise something as being on sale, that product had to be offered at it’s “regular price” most of the time. There is a replacement window company in metro Detroit, that advertises it’s windows as being “limited time half off sale”, 52 weeks/year. Clearly, if there ever was a law against hyping the regular price as a special “sale price”, it has either been repealed, or is ignored. Must not infringe the “free speech rights” of corporate people, even if the speech is a blatant lie?

Any home improvement service you see advertised on your local evening news is likely funded by Private Equity.
