I was wondering how long it would take these to sell out. I checked the website a few days ago and all three products (RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, and RTX 2070) had estimated ship dates at the end of October. Typically, companies can recognize revenue on the day the product is shipped to the customers so I thought that NVDA was trying to book as much revenue as possible from the RTX line as possible.
I just looked at the page that Darth linked us to and only the RTX 2070 has an estimated ship date there now (October 19-26). Does this mean that the RTX2080 Ti and RTX 2080 are both sold out? Does it mean that NVDA will likely sell out all of the product that it is able to ship? How many units did NVDA produce and how will this affect the quarter’s numbers? I think what we know is that it’s not bad news and we will find out on November 15th when NVDA announces the earnings results.
Now back to Cramer: his charitable trust sold NVDA shares. He thinks that chip companies are under pressure and he’s steering clear for now. One of the comments that I heard Cramer make is that NVDA’s gaming chips are ahead of their time and the gaming companies have not had time to make games that fully utilize the ray tracing technology. He may be right about this but it seems that since NVDA’s gaming GPUs seem to be selling out, gamers aren’t waiting to buy them as Cramer has implied.
I’m looking forward to the earnings call on November 15th. But before then we have some other things to digest.
There was another GTC conference in Israel a few days ago. NVDA Chief Scientist Bill Daily gave the keynote:

I haven’t had time to review the news and watch the keynote yet.
GTC in Washington DC starts on Monday. We’ll need if any additional announcements will be made.

Now the RTX 2070 no longer has an estimated ship date. Does that mean they sold all the inventory?
Chris
Chris,
I believe that means it’s in stock and ready to ship. The ship date was for when they expected to get them in and can then ship.
On another note the RTX 2080 Ti was available for a few hours today with a ship date of 11/2. That has since sold out again. So the top shelf $1200 card sells out almost immediately. The demand is for the best of the best, i’ll take that as pretty good sign.
