A friend of mine in college was nationally ranked in one of the track weight events, I think it was hammer throw. I asked how much he worked out and he said he spent a lot of time throwing, but he spent about 30 minutes a day strength training. He did about four or five different lifts at that was it. Guy could pick up a beer keg like it was nothing.
