I would suspect the hard working people in Toledo, Columbus, and Cleveland will say “oh yeah, this guy called us dumb and lazy, and wants to replace us with foreigners”
But a “JC” can’t see that.

I suspect that a big chunk of the Trumpist voters in Ohio are unreachable via mere economic and political ideology to vote for a !!black!?! person with foreign first and last names as executive of the state.
It will be interesting, and I think deeply telling regarding the turmoil of the coming decade, to find out.

Going Blue requires Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinatti. That is where the factory workers are that Ramaswamy called dumb and lazy, and wants to replace with foreigners.
And what of the farmers around Upper Sandusky, for instance? Would they vote for a POC who wants to bring in more foreigners?
He has never run for office before his attempt at POTUS. I suspect this Governor thing is a cover for being run off of the playground.

Different voters. Ramy has to get Rep primary voters to ignore his Mediocre comment, not general election voters - and any fellow Rep primary candidate is very likely to use his words (and his demographics) against him.
