Courtesy of Jeb (for those who know him), the US Dept of Health and Human Services announced a plan today to streamline the system for procuring and transporting organs. It specifically mentions “seeking more contracts to operate the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.” This will hopefully benefit TransMedics.

Any thoughts from anyone closer to the space?

It is an opportunity for TAM expansion. TMDX is a natural fit to take over part of this responsibility. However, it will probably take a long time to play out before there is clarity on it’s impact to TMDX. I’m thinking this would not have significant impact for years.
